Scott Nelson has over 25 years of experience helping companies navigate the world of tax credits & incentives (C&I). His career spans work in technology companies, government agencies, Big 4 firms, and private practice consulting. In addition to his work at Tax Incentives Group, Mr. Nelson founded a tax technology software startup to help companies manage and comply with their C&I requirements.

Previously, he led the West Coast Business Incentives practices at both KPMG and EY representing clients across automotive, manufacturing, software, warehouse/distribution, retail, and airline industries. Mr. Nelson has been interviewed for articles by Bloomberg and The Financial Times for his knowledge on FASB Topic 832. He has authored numerous articles in Site Selection, Area Development, and Expansion Management media outlets. He has also been a frequent speaker at TEI, and various tax technology events around the world. Mr. Nelson is currently a mentor at Google Launchpad, sFoundation, and 500 Startups. He holds a B.A. in International Relations/Economics and Engineering Computer Science from UC Davis and an MBA in Finance from CSU Sacramento.
